Find out what your field really needs

Every field is different, and fertilising "by eye" is the most common road to overpaying and disappointment. The starting point should be a diagnosis: a soil test that reveals the reaction and nutrient levels. Only on this basis can you choose the right product and dose for the site's real needs.

Start with a soil test

• Reaction (pH) — determines nutrient availability and the need for liming.
• Nutrient levels — phosphorus, potassium and magnesium content indicate the actual deficiencies.
• Soil category and humus — set the doses and the strategy for improving structure.

Match the product to the diagnosis

Once you have the results, it is easy to match a solution from the Bluebird range instead of acting generically:

• Low pH, need for rapid regulation — Carbonate Lime (CaCO₃ 98%) as the foundation of the reaction.
• Magnesium deficiency alongside acidification — Magnesium Lime (CaCO₃ 60%, MgCO₃ 30%) — two elements in a single granule.
• Low humus and a water-retention problem — Black Chalk with humus, combining deacidification with rebuilding organic matter.

Dose and timing for a specific field

• Set the dose based on pH and soil category; on light soils it is better to split it into smaller, more frequent applications.
• The best time is the post-harvest period, but the safe granulated form also allows top-dressing liming.
